This is the worst case I have seen where an individual has been scammed out of money. Way more needs to be done to protect and educate the vulnerable, and I think particularly older generations which are very trusting. Possibly a good idea to have a conversation with our parents and get them to agree now, before anything happens, to needing multiple family members authorisation for any amounts over a certain limit.
